Question:
What type of temperature do rabbits need? Hot, warm or cold?
Thanks,
L.
Answer:
Hi L,
Rabbits do much better in cooler conditions than hot. Rabbits regulate their body temperature through their ears and therefore lops have a more difficult time in warmer temperatures than rabbits with upright ears. They should never be exposed to anything colder than -10C or hotter than about 22C. They should also be kept out of direct sunlight which could potentially overheat them especially during hotter months. As well, don’t place their housing right near an air vent. This could overheat your rabbit when the heat is on or give them a chill when the ac is on.
