One of my most favourite events to attend annually is The All About Pets Show. Held Easter weekend at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, it is the largest pet showcase in Canada and most importantly, dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership to it’s guests.
Since my husband and I are lovers of all animals, we find all areas of the pet show intriguing. After snuggling all of the adorable puppies and rescued animals, watching the Reptile Show, chatting with the parrots in the Birds of Paradise section and being entertained by the Dock Dogs we finally made it to the Rabbit area. My favourite part of the day is of course visiting Rabbit Rescue and O.R.E.O to score some sweet deals on toys and food for the Bunnies.
Sadly this year Rabbit Rescue didn’t have it’s own booth but a few volunteers had joined forces with O.R.E.O to help spread bunny awareness. They also brought along a few rabbits up for adoption.
I got to chat with O.R.E.O, tell them about my website and find out a little more about them. O.R.E.O – The Ontario Rabbit Education Organization is a non-profit association run by dedicated rabbit lovers! They are volunteers spreading awareness about the health and well-being of domesticated buns. They travel around to different venues to help educate the public on pet rabbits since so many people buy rabbits on impulse, not realizing the proper care, time and dedication it takes to have a pet rabbit. They advocate that rabbits shouldn’t be left outdoors in hutches but make great indoor companions.
They have a great website on proper care, tips and health for rabbits – you can check them out at the address below:

My favourite part about visiting O.R.E.O is all of the cool toys and products they have for sale! Not only are they always really creative, but they’re a great price! Plus they always have great deals on food and hay as well as some other cool Bunny products! I’ve never come away empty handed!
After a long day my husband and I headed home, hands full of goodies and excited to spoil the kids!
If you’re an animal lover and you live around the Toronto area, next year be sure to check out the All About Pets Show!
